OK, it's true. These two graphs have absolutely nothing to do with each other. They each tell an important story -that there is a strong positive relationship between gun availability and gun deaths (Top Figure), and wealth and health care costs (Bottom Figure). In both instances the correlation is more important than where the US sits.
I just gasped a bit when I saw that the US position on both of these graphs was so similar.
